DFA Annual Meeting is March 12 at Felton Fire Hall

750_Transparent DFAThe Delaware Forestry Association will present the “Tree Farmer of the Year” award at its 2015 annual meeting at the Felton Community Fire Hall located
at 9 E. Main Street, Felton, DE 19943 on Thursday, March 12.

Tickets are $27 for adults, $12.50 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for those under age 6. Reservations are kindly requested by March 2, and more information is available by contacting Steve Ditmer at (410) 896-9283.

2015 DFA Scholarship – Apply by April 1st

Applications are being accepted now through April 1, 2015 for the 2015 DFA scholarship award. Applicants must choose forestry as their major and be enrolled full-time in a two-or-four-year accredited school program. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, room & board or books. The successful applicant will receive their award at the Delaware State Fair on Governor’s Day.  Last year’s scholarship winner was Luke Czapp of Millsboro.

The Delaware Forestry Association supports educational opportunities for young people to learn about natural resources management. DFA has been a Silver Sponsor of the Delaware Enviro-thon competition, an annual contest where teams of high school students compete to demonstrate their knowledge of a wide range of environmental topics.
